Dell Curry, the father of NBA player Stephen Curry, recently spoke with the Charlotte Observer about his life since splitting from Sonya Curry.

Stephen’s parents, Sonya and Dell Curry, are getting divorced after 33 years of marriage.

 Following his public breakup from Sonya, Dell Curry announced that he had married someone else. After the separation, he considered moving to the West Coast, but ultimately decided to stay where he was. Fate brought him together with Nicki, his now-wife. Dell remembered that they had spoken over the phone for a month before ultimately meeting in person. Dell knew he wanted to be with her since they shared a deep bond. He stated that life is wonderful right now and that he could not be happier, despite the fact that he had previously decided not to marry again.

 Dell and Sonya Curry broke their nearly 30-year marriage in 2021, filing for divorce after a brief separation. In a joint statement, the pair stated that they will always be present for their children and grandchildren and requested privacy. Initially, their breakup appeared difficult because Dell claimed Sonya was cheating on him with former NFL player Steven Johnson. Responding, Sonya stated that her connection with Johnson began after she and Dell split up in 2020, and that Dell had multiple indiscretions while they were married.
